Lybyan election which was suppose to take of on friday 24th December 2021 to get a new president and a new set of legislature was posponed due to a chaotic session reflecting the political crisis over the fate of the peace process.

There was disagreement in parliament on some rules which led to the posponement on the elections.

Libya’s electoral commission had said last week that the election could not take place, on the bases of what it called inadequacies in the electoral legislation and the judicial appeals process and suggested delaying the election to January 24, 2021.
