In response to President Akufo Addo’s letter, Amidu wrote a second statement revealing a lot pertaining to the Ayapa deal.

He said he resigned because he had the country at heart. In a statement he said the President ask the chief of defense staff to approach him to tell him not to take any action pertaining to the Agyapa deal. ” It was when the President directed through the chief of defense staff in the morning on 21st October 2020 in her office at 8:40 in the forenoon not to take any further steps on the Agyapa Royalties Limited Transactions anti-corruption assessment report until I met the President in his office on Friday, 23rd 2020″ He added that the president later told him personally not to take any action on the Agyapa deal.

He said he was hinted by the Holy Spirit not to continue as the Special Prosecutor.

” I became more convincced beyond any further resonable doubt after my second meeting with the President in his Office in the evening of Sunday 1st November 2020 when the President attempted to persuad me to shelve the Agyapa Royalties Limited Transactions anti-corruption assessment report to allow him to deal with the matter through a statement to the public, that God (represented by the Holy Trinity in my Catholic Faith) was in his own devine way revealing to me for the first time that the President of Ghana only looked like the innocent flower in fight against corruption but was indeed the mother serpent of corruption under the innocent looking flower anti-corruption. And may God, encampassed in Blessed Holy Trinity be externally praised for that devine revelations! ”

To Amidu the President looks like an innocent flower in the fight against corruption.
