The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) declared the sitting president of Ivory Coast as winner of the presidential election on Tuesday. Meanwhile the results has then been boycotted by two opposition parties.
The emerging percentages for the various parties are 94.27% going for Alhassan Quattara Pascal Affi 1.75%, Ninri Konan 3.55% Kouadio Konan 2.33%
Two opposition leaders said the results is not authentic because the total percentage is more than 100% which means there is problem with the results.
The Constitution of Ivory Coast earlier don’t allow a president to go for third term until Alhassane Quattara amended the Constitution to allow him go for third term. There is tension in Ivory Coast because of fear of post election violence. Report reveals that 31 people have already lost their lives during election period.
